Invest Just Two Minutes of Reading, Unleash a Lifetime of Employee Potential

Good morning beehiiv team. I wanted to introduce myself personally. I am JonErik Moyles, and I am keen to join the beehiiv team. After determining ways to curtail my resume and stand out personally, I decided why not utilize the platform that I would like to assist in growing exponentially into a usable format for my application.

Why beehiiv? 🐝 

I first discovered “beehiiv” when I subscribed to the Soren Newsletter. I enjoyed seeing his unique creative take on a real-world product but manipulating just enough that it could be an actual product offered.

However, that was just on my Twitter feeds, and then I saw his announcement for his newsletter. I noticed on his short and to-the-point newsletter that it was “Powered by beehiiv,” located at the footer of the email. This was a badge I was unfamiliar with.

This intrigued me.

I spent some time exploring the company’s site. The team at beehiiv seemed to have done an excellent job of streamlining the process for creators to maximize the effectiveness of their newsletter audience.

However, I stored that information away until a few weeks ago when I noticed another of my favorite newsletters, The Publish Press, is also leveraging your platform.

As a creator-forward solid company like Collin and Samir, I knew I should look into this.

After researching the company and LinkedIn posts, I noticed the team is ready to scale aggressively. This brings me to this newsletter application.

But firstly, am I qualified for the “Growth, Marketer Partnerships” role?

  • No, I’m not.

  • But I want to be part of the team in any way, whether as a growth marketer intern or as the coffee errand boy for the entire remote team.

    Yes, having the team spread across seven countries might pose a challenge. Regardless, I am up for it.

  • I noticed some current or previous employees with the positions of Growth Marketer with Jay Vang & Abhishek Shah, along with Growth Marketing intern with Steven Van.

I hope I have been able to convey my eagerness and passion for what beehiiv is doing for the creator and small business economy. By enabling anyone to grow and monetize a newsletter.

I would love to assist the team in growing the partner program to over 250,000 active partners.

At SDSU, I have maintained an active presence in the American Marketing Association (AMA) SDSU and the Associated Students (A.S.) Marketing and Communications Committee (MarComm).

SDSU American Marketing Association

Consulting Lead: Restaurant Division:

  • Coordinated the marketing goals of the client to a team of 8 students.

  • Achieved an increase of 25% in customer engagement on the social platforms.

  • Led collaborative content shoots involving photography and videography.

Operations Lead:

  • I supervised the operations team of 7 executive members that managed and hosted the club’s weekly events.

  • Facilitated and organized guest speaking engagements with industry professionals during meetings.

  • We improved member retention by 30%.

Board Member:

  • I assisted with script writing for A.S.'s Instagram videos (one I was featured in) and advised on merchandise and events for students.

  • I participated in A.S. content shoots.

    • Fun fact: I have been featured in marketing material at each college I have attended.

Marketing Automation Project: Apple Watch Ultra 2

  • We generated a marketing campaign deck for the release of the new Apple Watch Ultra 2, leveraging SEMRush and Google Analytics for data-driven insights.

  • Detailed target audience into four possible buyer personas with needs evaluated to complete the customer journey.

Rapid Response Campaign: W-Hotels, “WAKE UP CALL” Campaign Creation

  • In a time-restricted setting of a team of 6 students, we were instructed to develop a pitch deck to W-Hotel executives outlining marketing efforts with a data-backed rationale.

  • Evaluated extensive dataset of traffic source segmentation of the various channels.

Stromer Demo Day @ Thömus Shop in Santa Monica

Marketing Intern: Stromer EV Bikes

  • Coordinated and participated in Stromer EV Bike demo days with partnered bike shops. Tasks included engaging with prospects, accumulating liability forms, and collecting content throughout the event.

  • Generated and launched graphics for Stromer bike vendors to apply to their newsletters

Consulting Lead: Restuarant Division

  • After conducting market trend research, I developed a brand guide for the apparel and styling of the shoot. 

  • An explicit illustration highlighting a novel beverage choice and incorporating market research factorsđŸ‘‡ïž.

Brand Ambassador/Food Sampler: Cult Crackers

  • Acted as a brand ambassador for Cult Crackers, distributing samples and gaining exposure on Erewhon’s Instagram platform.

  • Introduced Cult Crackers to customers at multiple grocery stores, adapting my approach based on their preferences and interests.

  • For example, Erewhon Market's Beverly Hills location emphasized the importance of organic ingredients to resonate with customers despite the product's premium pricing.
